Fire Safety in the Barn

Deputy Fire Marshal Jamilynn Zapata of the Newtown Fire Marshal’s Office will be giving a presentation about Barn Fire Safety and Fire Code Compliance on Fevruary 24 starting at 7:30PM. This talk will include a slide show with the main causes of barn fires, areas of focus for fire-related barn safety in both the summer and the winter, and a time for questions and specific concerns at the end. DFM Zapata has been involved in the fire service since 1998, volunteering as a firefighter for over twenty years before becoming a career firefighter. She has been a certified fire marshal since 2017, is an avid animal lover and comes from a family of horse and barn folk. Come early and enjoy a drink or a meal at the best Italian restaurant in the area!
