YOUR MEMBERSHIP WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNTIL THIS WAIVER IS SIGNED FOR EACH RIDER.

Read and understand this before signing

I/We the undersigned, (the “Rider/s” or “Participant/s) is permitted to participate in or volunteer at any event sponsored or organized by the Newtown Bridle Lands Association, Inc. (“NBLA”) in Newtown, CT, the Rider and his/her parents or guardian (if Rider is less than 18 years of age) agree that NBLA, its officers, directors, agents, members, volunteers and assistants, as well as the landowners whose lands are used, crossed or abutted in this group ride (collectively, the “Releasees”) shall not be liable for, and agree to release them from, any accident, personal injury, death or property damage that may be sustained by any person or entity, including without limitation the Rider, as a result in whole or in part from the Rider’s participation in NBLA sponsored rides. This agreement is binding on the Rider and his/her parents or guardian whether or not said accident, personal injury, death or property damage is due in whole or in part to the negligence of the Releasees. The Rider and his/her parents or guardian agree to defend and indemnify the Releasees from any claims, demands or suits arising from the Rider’s participation in NBLA sponsored rides, including without limitation those arising in whole or in part from the negligence of the Releasees. I understand that horseback riding involves risks from natural and manmade conditions, including for example, failure of riders to control their horses, the existence of tree branches and roots, animal burrows, erosion, slippery and uneven footing, rocks and other conditions. I agree that natural and man-made conditions are an inherent risk of horseback riding. I voluntarily assume the risks of encountering these conditions, including without limitation conditions caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Releasees.


* NBLA event registration implies consent that any pictures or video taken during the event can be used for event coverage and promotional purposes. NBLA is able to use your likeness without remuneration. News media may be present at this event; unless indicated otherwise, all remarks at the event are on the record and may be shared on social media.

NBLA Code of Conduct

(“Horses” means all equines)


Safety:  Safety is the responsibility of all; unsafe behavior on or off horseback will not be tolerated.  Helmets and proper footwear are required to ride in NBLA events.


Well-Being: The well-being, health, and safety of horses and people are the priority.  Horses must be in proper condition to participate in NBLA events, including body score, hoof condition and overall health. Horses are to be treated with kindness, respect and compassion. Horses are not to be corrected with harsh or abusive methods.


Ambassadorship: Individuals should act as ambassadors for horses and the sport of horseback riding by promoting a positive relationship between horseback riders and all others.


Sportsmanship: Model fair play, respect, and inclusivity.Environment:  Respect the environment, don’t litter, clean up after your horse and trailer.

EACH RIDER NEEDS TO SIGN THIS FORM

If the rider is under 18, a parent or guardian will need to sign for them.
